Any special way I should store what I can refrain from eating?

We recommend a cool, dry place for just about everything. The refrigerator is cool, but NOT dry, so not the best place for your sweets. Or… if you really want to practice self control, the freezer is a good option.

With all of your treats around, I just know I won’t be able to stick to my diet, but in case I am good, how long will your cookies & treats stay fresh?

All gift boxes have an expiration date on them but here are some general guidelines: Our cookies are tastiest within two weeks, bar cookies and whoopie pies for a week and cakes and cupcakes should be enjoyed within 48 hours. All items should be stored in an airtight container

Is everything made on premises?

With the exception of gelato from Il Laboratorio del Gelato, we would not dream of serving you anything we did not make with our own two hands. That includes everything from our baked goods right down to the chocolate syrup for our hot cocoa.

Everyone I know must taste the One Girl love. Do you offer shipping?

We would never want the rest of the country to miss out, so we ship our gift boxes of cookies and whoopie pies to all 50 states. Please take a look at “Shipping Info” to get the low down.

Can/should I order in advance?

Yes you can! And yes you should! Though we bake everything on the same day that it is shipped, advance notice is most appreciated. For cake orders being picked up at our shop, 48 hours please. For other orders being picked up, 24 hours should do it. For orders being delivered or shipped, if placed by 2:00EST, it will go out the following business day.

Why is your phone number a 212 (Manhattan) area code? Aren’t you proud to be Brooklynites?

Why of course we are, but we used to be located in Manhattan and just thought it would be easier for all of our old customers to find us if we kept the same number.

What about a party for the adults in my life?

Our regulars would revolt if they got here and we were closed for a private event. We just cannot bear to disappoint them, so unfortunately, we do not rent our space out. BUT... One Girl would love to attend any party so call us to talk about having our sweet treats at your next celebration.

Will you teach me how to bake delicious treats myself?

Why of course! We want the world to know how to bake delicious treats so we offer monthly baking classes. You can check out what the topic is on the "News" page of our site and then call or drop by to sign up.

The Products...:

I’m allergic to pretty much everything. Do you offer wheat free, gluten free, sugar free, nut free or dairy free products?

Unfortunately nothing is free. All of those ingredients are used in our kitchen and can be found in many in our products. So if your allergy is severe, as much as we hate to say it, we prefer that you don’t risk it. We know how hard that might be, but it is your health after all! On the other hand, our kitchen is peanut and trans-fat free.

I only like round cookies. Can I customize my gift box to include only the cookies that I want?

In each gift box, we have thoughtfully created an assortment that we think anyone would love. Unfortunately, if you are averse to certain things, we are unable to substitute varieties. Not only does it throw off the weight of the box, but it also throws off the helpers that work so hard assembling all of the boxes. It would be just too much to ask to keep the “special” boxes aside. An alternative would be to stop by and select a box of loose cookies, choosing only the ones that are your favorites.

I need my fix. During what hours can I get it?

Sundays, 10am-7pm;
Mon-Thurs, 8am-7pm;
Fri, 8am-8pm;
Sat, 9am-8pm.

I love the décor and want my apartment to look exactly like it. Who designed your cookie boutique?

We had a great team of tradespeople working on the shop, but the design geniuses at MADE in Red Hook, Brooklyn got it all to come together. We cannot say enough about them… they made the whole process a lot of fun. And we ended up with a beautiful boutique! www.made-nyc.com

Planes, trains or automobiles. How do I get to you?

Planes….from JFK or LaGaurdia, hop in a taxi. Trains…the F or the G to Bergen St. When you exit, you’ll be on Smith St. Walk in the same direction as traffic (1-3 blocks…depending on where you exit) to Dean St. Make a left and you will see the aqua blue beacon of sweetness on your left side. Automobiles….we are minutes from both the BQE and the Brooklyn Bridge, but since cookies are our forte, and not directions, we’ll leave the details to the experts at MapQuest or Google Maps.

Is Cobble Hill & Dumbo your only locations? There should be one in every city!

For the time being, Brooklyn is One Girl Country.

Event Favors...:

I want to throw the hippest, chicest, most fun party ever. How can One Girl be a part of it?

Getting One Girl involved is the first step towards chic & hip. You can offer your guests a "Cookie Bar" and/or One Girl Cake by Francina to graze on throughout your party. And then, send them home with a pretty little box of treats so that the party can continue well after it ends.

I’m a spur of the moment kind of person. Is an appointment required to discuss favors?

Required is a strong word. You are more than welcome to drop by and get some general information about pricing and packaging options. But, we prefer to offer you the royal treatment, cookie tasting and all. In order to do that we want to be able to clear our calendars and focus on nothing but you, so an appointment is recommended.

How much lead time do you need for favors?

“The more the better”, as they say. Eight weeks is great, but we try to accommodate any party host looking for the perfect favors. If favors slipped your mind and you don’t have much time, give us a call and we’ll see what we can work out.
